Development Services Department moves to new location

JOHN, B.C. — The Development Services Department of the City is moving to a leased space in a new location, as a culmination of the final stages of the Organizational Review that began as part of the 2012 Council Strategic PlanAccording to a press release sent by the City of Fort St. John, Development Services staff will be located on the main floor of the Beaton Building: 10003 110th Avenue  effective March 8, 9 and 10. As a few staff will be moved each day, the City recommends a call before a visit is planned.The services moving to the new office space include development, land use permits, building inspection, engineering, GIS & mapping, and planning.- Advertisement -The organizational review was conducted with the objectives of the review. The move aims to develop an organizational structure that would improve management of the City over the next five to ten years, align with the City’s strategic goals, identify and address organizational challenges that currently exist — and ensure that key work processes, systems and services are well managed.Staffing was reorganized into better functioning departments with a General Manger responsible for the Division and Directors responsible for the Department work groups, to meet these objectives.Staff will be moved around to allow work groups to be situated near each other, and for better work flow.Advertisement Payments for permits will still be received at City Hall.last_img
