Evacuation alert lifted for Hudson’s Hope

first_imgThis fire is being continually acted upon by Wildfire Management Services with support from the District of Hudson’s Hope Fire Department.Here is the forecast for Hudson’s Hope:Today: cooler weather, highs of 12-13C expected, easterly winds of 20-30 km/hr, slight chance of precipitation.Friday: cooler weather, highs of 9-11C, slight chance of showers 1-2 mil, similar cooler weather with slight chance of precipitation expected to continue through the weekend into Monday.WINDS: Friday 10km/hr north-easterly; Saturday 5km/hr north-easterly; Sunday 5km/hr easterly; Monday 15km/hr westerly. HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The evacuation alert for the District of Hudson’s Hope, which was issued on Monday, has been lifted.Though the downtown area is affected by smoke, it’s not under  any evacuation alert at this time.No homes or structures are at risk at this time.- Advertisement -Other updates from the District include good progress on all fires, less smoke, and only hot spots left to fight. No new fires detected in the northeast.The Drew Road fire is extinguished and is in the mop-up stage. The fire northeast of Wegen Road is not harming any structures, nor are any at risk, and a fire guard has been constructed on the west side.The Hudson’s Hope fire, located west of the Jamieson Subdivision, is within a fire guard that has been constructed north between Summer Road and Carter St along the north flank of the fire — about three kilometres long.Advertisementlast_img
