Golden State Freeway reopens in Arleta

first_imgAll lanes of the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway near the Hollywood (170) Freeway have reopened after crews shut them down to fix an overhead sign that was damaged by a passing dump truck, officials said. The truck hit a pole and broke an overhead sign about 8:50 a.m., said Officer Anthony Martin, California Highway Patrol spokesman. Caltrans officials determined the sign needed to be replaced and a series of alerts to drivers were issued beginning about 9:35 a.m., followed by a full closure about 2 p.m. The lanes reopened about 3:45 p.m. For more news and observations about crime in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, check out the Daily News’ crime blog by clicking here. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
