Rep Barrett hosts summer reading program for students

first_img State Rep. Tom Barrett today announced a summer reading program for Eaton County students that aims to keep them reading over the summer months.“It’s important to keep our students’ minds sharp over the summer,” said Rep. Barrett, R- Potterville. “Reading is the key to that and this program will give students an incentive to read at least ten books between June and September.”Students first through fifth grade are eligible to participate in the program. To enter, students simply pick up a bookmark from their local library, read ten books, and return their filled in bookmark to specially marked boxes in the library. One young reader will be rewarded with a trip to Lansing as a “Representative for a Day.”Public libraries across Eaton County have pledged to participate in the summer reading program.
